Your key responsibilities

Reporting to the Resource Management Leader for Western Canada, the Resource Manager, Associate will be primarily responsible for the day to day resource management activities within the Assurance Service Line, for Calgary and Edmonton with some assistance with Vancouver.

  • Delivers timely resource deployment solutions for assurance project needs through sourcing appropriate candidates within assurance Canada
  • Orients new hires and throughout the Service Line
  • Implements deployment programs for unassigned
  • Actively manages resource capacity and ensures an accurate forecast of excess capacity or resource needs is communicated
  • Able to facilitate and lead problem resolution with peers and management;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision;
  • Learn and master the reporting and planning components of a resource management software applications 
  • Appropriately prioritize staffing decisions based on engagement risk, specialization requirements, timing constraints, staffing continuity and geographic considerations
  • Understand the audit process. Identify and manage project requirements and skill sets necessary for successful delivery on client engagements;
  • Proactive deployment of communication plans and timely sharing of information necessary to secure project resources;
  • Detailed tracking of resource requests and recommended solutions, weekly analysis of utilization reports and special reports, as appropriate;
  • Participation at Canadian Resource Management Team meetings
  • Anticipates unmet delivery needs and recommends strategies for unassigned resources;
  • On an annual basis, provides input to the Annual Performance Evaluation process for the local offices.

  • Displays a “can do” attitude, and strives to deliver “win-win” solutions;
  • Able to facilitate and lead problem resolution with peers and management;
  • Proficient at negotiation skills and conflict management
  • Excellent technical capability with MS Office and quick to adapt to new software

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A University degree;
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a corporate setting
  • Experience in project management or client relationship management is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with various demands and personalities
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including developing Pivot Tables
  • Data driven mindset with an ability to analyze data to provide solutions
  • Committed team player with a solution-driven, value-added focus
  • Experience in the selection and matching of candidates to job roles.
