Job Summary:
The Talent Strategic Sourcing Associate Director, reports to the North America Talent Procurement Leader, and is responsible for leading the procurement strategy, sourcing execution, and stakeholder engagement across the Talent portfolio for North America (external spend of approximately $600M per annum). The Talent/HR category includes the sub-categories of health and life insurance, benefits, relocation, HR platforms and administration
  • Responsible for designing and implementing sourcing strategies across Total Rewards categories of; health (specifically in a self-insured environment) and life insurance, benefits, relocation, HR platforms and administration
  • Specifically this person will be in constant direct contact with US and Canada Benefits leadership, and will need strong knowledge of the US Health, Insurance, and Wellness Industry
  • This person will be responsible for innovation and cost savings in the Health and Wellness space and should have deep knowledge of how to drive innovation and cost in the environment
  • Manages local procurement team and directs their efforts and workload (team of 2-4 people)
  • Works closely with stakeholders within Talent and across the services lines, articulating the procurement value proposition and agreeing procurement approach and projects
  • Provides exceptional customer service and delivers value to the business and the bottom line through: vendor rationalization, establishment of preferred vendors, cost savings and cost avoidance, reduced risk via improved terms and conditions, demand management and innovation
  • Participates actively in global sourcing strategy for the category
  • Supports the implementation of SAP Procure to Pay Program for the US and Canada region including review of Talent processes, effective management of the vendor contracts and establishment of catalogues where appropriate
Essential functions of the job:
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within region business units and service lines and report procurement progress via regular meetings
  • Build a pipeline of procurement projects for the region in collaboration with local stakeholders and execute local and regional deals in the timelines agreed with key stakeholders
  • Achieve cost reduction targets, help to develop new cost reduction strategies and improve negotiable spend via sourcing and demand management
  • Builds a view of all supplier contracts and ensure data is accurately captured in EY’s database
  • Ensure the adequate planning of the team’s resources around the deal pipeline and renewals of key contracts
  • Lead complex RFPs and negotiations and support the team in the analysis of the information and the negotiation of the contract in conjunction with the stakeholders and legal teams
  • Minimize contractual risks to the firm and manage business relationships with vendors according to EY’s Procurement and Independence policies
  • Work with other Procurement leaders to agree regional or global strategies which supports the overall Talent objectives
  • Provide accurate monthly reports on the team’s deals and savings forms
  • Ensure compliance to the Procurement policy by education of local EY staff and presentations to stakeholders
  • Manage all people related activities (performance, compensation, learning) for respective staff including coaching of more junior members
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • Approximately 10 or more years of Procurement experience, including but not limited to sourcing and demand management 
  • Experience in other sourcing areas; such as Canadian health insurance and benefits, relocation, and wellness also desirable.
  • Experience of working in a global and complex organization and liaising with different cultures
  • Able to align efforts with the key stakeholders and influence these leaders, as necessary, and possess a global mindset.
  • Very strong data analysis skills and presentation skills via Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing people
  • Ability to travel occasionally for strategic planning, stakeholder meetings, people management, project coordination and implementation
  • Bachelors’ degree, or equivalent experience
