The opportunity

 

The objective of our advisory practice is to provide a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape as well as provide sustainable operations delivering effective products and services in a compliant environment that is cost effective. Our solutions can be used by our clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, the overall market and when required by regulation or contract.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support client engagement teams, working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional advisory services and participate in business development activities
  • Participate in performing a variety of advisory services, including internal audit risk assessment procedures, IT-related internal control or operational audits, and performance/operational improvement projects
  • Work with the team and the client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards
  • Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing and deliverables

Skills and attributes for success

  • Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
  • Foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and consistently deliver quality client services.
  • Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget.
  • Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
  • Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in accounting, finance, business, computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related field
  • Possess or be actively pursuing an internationally recognized professional accounting designation, such as a CA, CPA, ACA or equivalent, or a service line relevant designation, such as a CIA, CISA, CISSP, PMP or equivalent; non-certified hires are required to become certified before being eligible for promotion to manager
  • A minimum of eighteen (18) months of recent relevant experience in a similar position; prior experience working for a public accounting/professional services firm and experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred
  • Engagement management, execution and reporting skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients with a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Confidence in your ability to prioritize when managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in a collaborative setting
  • The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge of current market issues in the Financial Services sector
  • A proven ability to build a network of contacts and mutual business relationships
