Assistant Director, APAC Assurance Talent Team

Location: Hong Kong preferred but would consider other locations within Asia-Pacific


Job Summary:

As a core member of the Global Assurance Talent team and Asia-Pacific Assurance Talent team this is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to experience working in a truly Global team. This role offers the successful applicant to work directly on the talent agenda for the largest service line audit and two of the firms fastest growing sub service lines (FAAS and Forensics). Working closely with the Global Talent team together will develop and implement a global talent strategy which includes recruitment & onboarding; engagement activities and career development. As a parallel this role will be actively working with Asia-Pacific regions to operationalise some of these important priorities. There will also be the opportunity to work on ad-hoc Assurance projects dependent on workload. Ideally this role would suit someone who has gained experience working in a regional talent team and is looking to broaden their experience.

Key responsibilities (analytical/decision making/supervisory):

  • Support the development of key talent priorities on a Global basis
  • Play an active role with the implementation of specific Talent priorities within the Asia-Pacific Area to ensure consistent alignment across all Regions 
  • Build close relationships / networks with Regional, Area and Global Assurance Talent teams as well as other functional stakeholders eg Global Talent team 
  • Successfully deliver assigned projects to agreed schedule and deadlines, budget and scope, escalating delays and impediments to completion as necessary 
  • Provide reports and gather data as required. Share information, analysis and/or insights gathered with other team members
  • Play an active role in the change management required for successful implementation of Global and Area Talent priorities 
  • Coordinate activities across the virtual team


Knowledge, skills and experience requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Talent / Learning role or experience in audit, Forensics and FAAS
  • Broad understanding of our business, or other professional services environment
  • Competent at handling multiple demands and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Good analytical skills, able to grasp complexities, and understand interrelationships between issues
  • Good project management skills and knowledge of project management practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Possesses a ‘can do’ attitude, has strong personal drive and a solution driven approach
  • Displays initiative, creative thinking and the ability to offer innovative ideas
  • Ability to assert own ideas, and influence others, to gain support and commitment for shared accountabilities within projects
  • Can work effectively and efficiently in a virtual team
  • Sets high personal standards with consistent quality of delivery and exceptional client service
  • Demonstrates high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Strong spoken and written English and IT literate in word, excel, powerpoint and sharepoint. Proficiency in another Asian language will be an advantage. 
  • Has the ability and willingness to work in a multicultural and diverse environment and flex style as appropriate (sensitivity to cultural differences)

Given the nature of the role flexible working is offered and encouraged. Occasional overseas travel is expected.
