Job Summary:
As Assurance Senior Manager, you'll manage assurance engagements by defining the audit strategy with the engagement partner and executing it in compliance with EY's policies and protocols. With responsibility for managing the financial aspects of engagements, you'll be active in identifying opportunities that are consistent with the Client's independence policies. You'll draw on your knowledge and experience to solve complex or contentious issues, support the partner in charge of the engagement, take on non-client responsibilities and build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers.
 
As a role model for Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM), you'll confirm that project teams understand and comply with EY's Q&RM guidelines. You'll also develop, manage and motivate high-performing teams and help key staff to build sustainable competencies.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Your client responsibilities

  • Manage the financial aspects of assurance engagements and communicate significant issues, fees and estimates-to complete
  • To partners and clients
  • Assist partners to generate new business opportunities and build client networks and relationships
  • Understand Ernst & Young's service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients
  • Build strong internal relationships within Ernst & Young Assurance and across other services
Your people responsibilities
  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring all levels of staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
  • Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training assurance professionals
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an educational program to continually develop personal skills of all levels of staff
  • Understand, follow and communicate workplace policies and procedures and communicate these to all levels of staff
  • Develop your personal profile in the marketplace
  • Develop awareness of Ernst & Young offerings in the marketplace
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key client sponsors
  • Manage the risk of delivery on client engagements
  • Manage all financial aspects of client engagements
  • Act as an ambassador for Ernst & Young in the market and with clients
To qualify, candidates must have:
 
Technical skills requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques
  • Eight years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience of the entire audit process
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP and Ernst & Young's global audit methodology
  • Detailed understanding of risk-based auditing and risk and control strategies
  • Understanding of Q&RM procedures
  • Compliance with and understanding of regulatory requirements
Additional skills requirements
  • Track record with a leading audit firm
  • Professional accountancy qualification
  • Strong academic record including a degree
