Job Summary

The Business Development (BD) Pursuit Strategy Coordinator provides strategic and tactical pursuit support, and seeks to make the critical difference through the following key areas of focus;

1. Provide pursuit management, communications and administrative support to Core opportunities and Regional Big Bets at the top end.

2. Embed pursuit excellence in the business by building relationships across the Region and sharing best practice.

3. Drive continuous innovation in pursuits to ensure EY process and deliverables stand out from our competitors by actively supporting strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions of the Job:

The BD Pursuit Strategy Coordinator will be responsible for the following four key areas:

1. Strategic pursuit and opportunity management

        Actively participates in developing proposal strategy, authoring proposals, company research and proposal production

        Actively participates in and contributes to all stages of the proposal process, overseeing adherence to all steps of the proposal process and firm guidelines. Takes a proactive role in driving the pursuit process, including mapping relationships and following through on action items to achieve a coordinated effort by the account team.

        Provides input to discussions around pursuit strategy and may work directly with client service on opportunities without a BDE.

        Serves as liaison between internal teams and creative services for workflow.

2. Strategic pursuit communications

        Co-develops strategic and tactical proposals and campaigns with Business Development Executives (BDEs) and client service professionals to win new business. Focuses on pursuits that have high revenue potential or that are medium-large in scope.

        Researches and writes standard or customized proposals, working closely with BDEs and senior management to develop responses that convey a unique proposal strategy for the client. Prioritizes proposal-writing assignments and coordinates the flow of information from various department contributors to meet all deadlines. Manages multiple proposals simultaneously.

3. Client relationships

        May specialize in a few specific industries or functional areas. Builds and leverages relationships with industry/practice leaders to achieve business goals. Identifies opportunities to build strategic alliances to achieve business goals.

4. Administration

        Responsible for compliance with firm’s independence policy and quality measures as it relates to proposals and business opportunities.

        Actively supports pursuit best practice initiatives, such as FAQ, boilerplate responses and CV collation activities.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

        Demonstrates effective understanding and application of principles and practices of pursuits and communications.

        Acts as a project manager for small-medium proposals or oversees portions of large proposals.

Supervision Responsibilities:

        Receives supervision and frequent review of work by Business Development Pursuit Strategy Leader.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Excellent English writing (+local language) and communication skills and demonstrated project management experience (essential).

        Well-organized with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously (essential).

        Business development / marketing communications experience in a blue chip environment (considered an asset).

Other Requirements:

        Flexibility to work outside regular working hours.

 


 

Job Requirements:

Education:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in a related field such as English, Business Management, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Communications.

Experience:

        Approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience in business development, marketing or project management. Communications or proposal writing experience is desirable.
