BMC is led globally by Karen Hopkins. The function is made up of around 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; PR/Media Relations & External Communications; Internal Communications &Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.
 
BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. Through the collective power of BMC, and the other teams and specialists we work with, we aim to build a better working world by driving commercial value through distinctive marketing and communications that deliver measurable market impact.

Position Summary:

 

The Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) function has an important role to play in helping to achieve EY’s Vision 2020 ambition to become the leading global professional services organization. We work hand in hand with the business to take our services and solutions to market; bring our purpose of building a better working world to life for our people, clients and communities; engage our people and build a high-performing culture; and help build the commercial value and emotional resonance of the EY brand.

 

The Global Assurance BMC team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual with a strong background in professional services marketing. He/She will lead the deployment and localization, and, at times, the origination of global programs in the EMEIA Area and support local Regions, as well as assist with the development of local campaigns to help build engagement with key external influencers and decision makers. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about helping the business in the Area to win in the market through the development and execution of integrated marketing programs.

 

Success in this role will be demonstrated through the results of leading and owning the delivery of this strategic, multi-channel marketing program and supporting activities that increase the effectiveness of communications and evolve the external marketing brand for EY Assurance services.

 

Based in EMEIA this experienced professional will work with the business to develop and deliver campaigns that support reputation and revenue objectives. Using the existing BMC regional network, and by applying current marketing and branding best practices, as well as a knowledge of the business, he/she will create strategies with focused objectives, budgets, targets and metrics, while developing and maintaining competitive and compelling value propositions.

 

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Develop senior level stakeholder relationships that provide strategic counsel on brand and marketing best practices
  • Work closely with digital, global go-to-market program, and external and internal communications teams across the Firm, as well as Area Assurance leadership to define, develop and deliver integrated marketing and communications programs
  • Successfully collaborate within a highly matrixed operating environment, including leveraging and originating go-to-market content (e.g., positioning documents, thought leadership, digital content, sales campaign material and product summaries) within EY’s brand guidelines
  • Manage and deliver complex, multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns with the input of multiple stakeholders
  • Develop issue-based, buyer journey-led marketing strategies and create and execute plans that have focused objectives, budgets and performance metrics
  • Build networks of local market brand, marketing and communications professionals – and an ability to influence without authority
  • Effectively work autonomously within a highly virtual, global BMC team.

Knowledge, Competency and Skill Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of the variety of marketing channels and tactics available to engage stakeholders, with an emphasis on digital
  • Solid project management skills and a track record for delivery within a matrix and virtual team environment  
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail and deadlines, and adherence to brand standards
  • Excellent communication skills and networking experience, as well as experience managing a wide range of relationships with people at all levels within an organization, including global leaders
  • Knowledge of and experience with global business fundamentals, business models, ethics, competitive analysis and cross-cultural/geographical sensitivities
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in role demands and responsibilities
  • Proven ability to excel in a Big Four or complex professional services firm.


Other Requirements:

  • Open to multiple locations within EMEIA
  • The role will collaborate with colleagues globally, which will occasionally require working outside of normal business hours.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent area of study or experience); professional or higher qualification in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations preferred.

Experience:

  • Significant marketing experience with proven track record
  • Experience in a cross-border role, managing complex global programs
  • Experience with or exposure to audit services marketing and communications preferred  
  • Working knowledge of EY, the professional services sector or matrix organizations
  • Ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Occasional travel.
