Job Description:

The resource planner is responsible for the planning of resources within the assurance business in the different regions of SA and Africa.  This includes building portfolios for trainee’s and forecasting planning for a 12 month period, ensuring staff continuity year on year, proactively managing clashes, core hours and planning issues, resolving these within a 24 hour turnaround period, and communicating planning outcomes to managers / partners concerned.  The resource planner is also responsible for collation of weekly/monthly reports, monitoring staff behavior, inducting resources, reporting on trends in the business  and certain administrative duties such as  leave and overtime approval. 

 

 
Key roles and responsibilities:
 
  • Planning of all chargeable and non-chargeable time on retain for all levels of staff in assurance
  • Building portfolios for a 12 month period for all new trainee’s
  • Monitoring portfolios and core hour balances regularly and intervene when necessary to address potential shortfalls.
  • Ensure that leave/Overtime is approved/declined and planned timeously and changes to process communicated effectively
  • Ensure accurate reports are prepared timeously, highlighting potential problem areas
  • Reports weekly/monthly
o   Utilization
o   Core Hours
o   PVC (planned versus charged)
o   Resource Planning Summary report by Operating Unit
  • Monitoring of unassigned staff & unassigned register
  • Planning of vacation students at various times in the year
  • Planning of staff from other countries (JIT)
  • Optimizing of planning and utilization of resources
  • Ensure diversity of teams (especially on key accounts)

 

 

 

Qualifications
 
Administration Degree / Diploma  or Project Management Diploma
Previous experience in project management preferred.
Flexibility concerning working hours is required.
