Tax Services Manager – Business Tax Services – Federal Tax – Partnership Tax Services
 
Business Tax Services helps clients succeed by assisting them with the strategic and operational challenges facing their tax functions. We’ll look to you to participate in analyzing tax opportunities and benefits, assist clients in identifying and managing strategic opportunities and risks that relate to significant prospective planning, and provide tax-related domestic and cross-border planning and compliance assistance to business-connected individuals and their associated entities. The opportunity

Partnership Tax Services (PTS) provides clients with tax guidance and planning for their partnerships, joint ventures and other strategic alliances. Our people work on key client issues in partnership taxation, such as capital account maintenance and Section 704(c) issues, with a focus on evaluating and implementing complex partnership transactions.
 
Your key responsibilities
 
It’s fair to say there’s no average day for a PTS manager — so you’re likely to spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks. We’ll look to you to provide clients with tax guidance and planning for their partnerships, joint ventures and other strategic alliances.  In an effort to maximize business development opportunities, you’ll be part of a team enhancing EY’s brand through strong external relationships across a network of existing and future clients.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and approximately two years of related work experience; or a graduate degree in tax or law and approximately four years of related work experience
  • A valid US certified public accountant (CPA), or enrolled agent (EA) certification, or licensed attorney designation; or progress toward CPA, EA or licensed attorney designation
  • Partnership experience and working command of Section 704(c)
  • Broad exposure to federal income taxation
  • Excellent managerial, organizational, project management and verbal/written communication skills
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and be comfortable supervising teams of EY personnel and client personnel
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access and data mining tools 
Ideally you’ll also have
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for client service
