The opportunity
 

Vendor Management of Microsoft is a critical role for EY Technology to ensure that the contractual framework with Microsoft has the appropriate controls and processes in place to reduce risk, improve vendor performance, and optimize contract value and help build the strategic partnership with Microsoft to differentiate EY in the market, drive digital transformation at EY, increase collaboration and productivity, and showcase Microsoft technologies.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

In line with EY’s Next Wave strategy, EY manages key 3rd party IT services within the Global Vendor Management Organization (GVMO). GVMO scope includes vendor governance, contract management, and relationship management for high value technology and managed services delivered by Strategic IT Vendors. The key objective of the GVMO and this role is to maximize value and prevent value leakage from vendor relationships and contracts. Value leakage refers to all circumstances where EY is failing to extract the maximum strategic or commercial value from a third-party relationship or contract.


The Vendor Manager will report directly to the Microsoft Vendor Management Lead in GVMO.  The position has global scope and is accountable and responsible for its assigned vendor relationships included but not limited to Microsoft.


The successful candidate works independently towards achieving outcomes (not tasks) within an established GVMO framework and under minimal guidance.  The Vendor Manager will be accountable for assigned responsibilities, such as; performance management, support management, deliverables and obligations tracking, customer satisfaction surveys, vendor metrics, executive and operational reporting, global contract inquiries, invoice management, and escalation management.  The Vendor Manager will also contribute to building out the GVMO vendor management function and tools throughout the enterprise.

 
  • Supporting the Microsoft Vendor Manager Lead in contract management, financial management, relationship management, performance management, issue management, vendor support management, annual contract renewals, deliverable and obligation tracking, executive and operational vendor reporting, and other governance activities

  • Building relationships of value with Microsoft account teams to ensure vendor is meeting expectations

  • Monitoring and reporting vendors’ service performance against criteria

  • Oversight of vendor service reviews and service improvement and innovation plans as necessary

  • Maintain line of sight to vendor by delivering consistent vendor scorecard and reporting to key stakeholders

     

Acting as a subject matter expert, the Vendor Manager will be responsible for proactively leading the completion of multiple complex activities and guiding EY Technology and Microsoft in the use of appropriate procedures, techniques, and tools to meet organizational goals and objectives.

The candidate will interface with EY Technology Key Leaders and Service Owners, Procurement, Legal, Microsoft and other personnel to develop and maintain the relationships needed to apply EY Technology’s operational and strategic partnership goals in accordance with the GVMO framework.

To qualify for the role you must have

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Extensive relevant experience with Microsoft licensing and services contracts and other relevant enterprise software and services vendors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in vendor management of software or cloud services agreements

  • Experience working in a multicultural global environment

     

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

Incumbent will have significant autonomy within the role; the degree of decision making will be aligned with the Lead Vendor Manager. Will also need to balance competing priorities from the stakeholders.
